The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced  Science Laboratory Technician to join our fantastic team.

What you will be doing:

Ensuring high-quality, timely services to support the Science curriculum by maintaining and organising teaching resources. This role involves managing the storage and upkeep of science equipment and resources, coordinating with science teachers and the Senior Science Technician. You will be preparing materials for lessons, assisting students during practical sessions, and conducting demonstrations. You will be maintaining a clean and safe environment, handling chemicals and waste properly, and ensuring all equipment is functional and ready for use. Additionally, you will be supporting the science department by photocopying, aiding in classroom displays, and contributing to extracurricular clubs. A key responsibility is overseeing the management of practical resources, which encompasses stock control, financial record-keeping, and ensuring the availability of materials and equipment, optimizing for both suitability and cost-effectiveness.


Who we are looking for: 

•  5 A*-C GCSE's including Maths, English and Science or equivalent

•  NVQ Level 2 in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (LATA) / Level 2 Laboratory Technicians in Education / Level 2 Certificate in Laboratory Technical Skills is advantageous 

•  Knowledge of Chemistry, including the safe use, storage, preparation and disposal of chemicals

•  Confident with computer systems and software packages

•  Commitment to high standards, best value and continuous improvement
