KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach Science to Middle and High School students, covering topics from biology, chemistry, and physics, following IB standards.
- Create and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that promote inquiry, experimentation, and critical thinking.
- Develop differentiated learning plans to meet the needs of diverse learners and challenge students at various levels of understanding.
- Assess and track student progress regularly, providing feedback and adapting teaching methods as needed to ensure academic growth.
- Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance science learning, including lab simulations and data analysis.
- Actively contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programs, such as science clubs, fairs, and environmental initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to create a cohesive, interdisciplinary learning environment aligned with the IB philosophy.
- Mentor students, guiding their personal, academic, and social development, while supporting their exploration of scientific topics.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians on student progress and development.
- Ensure teaching aligns with IB inquiry-based learning and school values, promoting curiosity and a scientific mindset.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A university degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field) with a recognised teaching qualification.
- 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or IB school, with experience teaching science to Middle and High School students.
- Familiarity with IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB DP, and inquiry-based science education.
- Proven ability to create a dynamic, hands-on learning environment that fosters curiosity and student engagement.
- Proficiency in technology integration to enhance science instruction through experiments, simulations, and interactive tools.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (basic French is an advantage).
- A collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with colleagues across multiple disciplines.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a multicultural environment.
- A commitment to professional development and keeping up with scientific advancements and educational best practices.
- A solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for inspiring students to explore and love science.
- Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities, including science fairs, clubs, or environmental projects.
