Science at Woodlands is a highly valued subject that has been invested in heavily over the last two academic years to accelerate its improvement journey further. The department has a wealth of experience, led by a diligent, conscientious and supportive Subject Leader. Alongside this, the department benefits from two seconds in department, a lead practitioner, a STEM lead practitioner and a body of well experienced, exceptional classroom practitioners. The department has an exceptional track record in providing additional learning opportunities for students and leads the way in extra-curricular to enhance the learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high quality Science lessons that inspire students.
  • Assess students’ work and provide feedback to accelerate their progress further
  • Communicate with parents to provide supportive guidance to support their child’s learning at home
  • Be a form tutor and deliver the tutor and PSHE programme

Woodlands Community College is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school without sixth form situated in Southampton, Hampshire. It is a community state school within the Southampton Education Authority.  A secondary school with places for 900 students between the ages of 11-16, currently oversubscribed with 905 students currently on roll.

The school was opened by then-minister for schools David Miliband in 2003.
