What you will be doing:

Ensuring high-quality, timely services to support the Science curriculum by maintaining and organising teaching resources. Responsibilities include preparing equipment, chemicals, and specimens for practical sessions and advising staff and students on the safe use of these materials. This also involves providing specialist support for teaching activities, adhering to CLEAPSS guidelines, and performing maintenance tasks such as minor repairs and upkeep of laboratories, this also includes the care of plants and livestock within the department and the preparation of standard solutions for laboratory use.

Who we are looking for: 

•  A Level or Equivalent in Science. BTEC, HNC/HND, foundation or degree in a Science Subject

•  Experience of working in an educational environment or have previous experience working with/supervising children

•  Previous experience of working in a laboratory is advantageous 

•  Knowledge of Chemistry, including the safe use, storage, preparation and disposal of chemicals

•  Confident with computer systems and software packages
