We are seeking to appoint a Science Technician (Chemistry) to join our team. The main requirements of the role are supporting and maintaining the science resources and providing technical support. Working with the Heads of Department and through efficient management of storerooms, stock levels, resources, and specialist facilities, you will help ensure a positive student experience and a safe working environment.The following responsibilities and activities form the core tasks that you will undertake in supporting the science provision at Newstead Wood School.

Newstead Wood School is a highly selective girls’ state secondary school, with a co-educational Sixth Form. The school is heavily over-subscribed. Students here achieve the highest academic standards whilst also benefitting from exceptional pastoral care. Our school badge, with its symbol of the acorn and the motto Fortitudine Crescamus, meaning ‘may we grow in strength’, symbolises the idea of growth, both for the school and for the individual.

All staff benefit from pay scales higher than the National Pay Scales and 8 CPD days per year. All staff are enrolled into the PerkBox rewards scheme and have access to funded MA’s and high level CPD.
