We have a fantastic opportunity at our Hindhead Campus for an experienced and interactive Science Technician on a part time (0.6FTE), permanent basis. You will be adept at coaching our students to see and lead through challenges in their learning, so they make the best possible progress in each and every lesson.


Key responsibilities:

  • To support effective teaching and learning through the efficient, effective and safe development of Science resources, providing technical support to the Teacher of Science
  • To undertake preparations of materials for student's practical work including IT based activities
  • To assist in the production of technical information that is used by staff and students
  • To understand and be aware of all health and safety instructions on the use of department resources (e.g. tools, materials, equipment etc)
  • To have general oversight / maintenance of resources within the department
  • To report maintenance and repair school equipment and fittings as required
  • When requested by teaching staff, to demonstrate the use of different equipment and materials with regards to safety, including providing technical advice, assistance and supervision to pupils during practical's, project work and assessments
  • To work with students who have difficulties undertaking particular tasks and to adjust / modify apparatus for those students with SEND
  • Where directed, assist the teacher with coursework, delivery of work programmes / lessons and assessments within the specialist area, to include supporting the staging of displays


You will:

  • Have excellent scientific and technical knowledge
  • Have knowledge of safe working practices within the school science lab
  • Have experience of maintenance of science equipment
  • Be educated to Minimum A-Level Science and Grade A*-C in GCSE English and Maths
  • Have good IT and strong practical skills
  • Be a positive role model of professional practice and conduct of others
  • Set an example of positive personal integrity and professionalism, with positive, appropriate and effective communications and relationships at all levels
  • Ensure high standards are maintained, progressed and promoted in all areas of work
  • Uphold and promulgate the OSG UK ethos within all areas of responsibility

Welcome to OneSchool Global UK Hindhead Campus. Established and registered in 2003 as the ‘Three Counties Education Trust’ in Farnham, Focus School Hindhead moved to its current location in September 2008 and is now well-established in its new premises.

Our school is located in Surrey on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty known as the Punch Bowl. Hindhead is the highest village in Surrey enjoying wonderful views and beautiful scenery. We have excellent communication links being just minutes from the A3 to London and the South.

Hindhead Campus pursues a programme of ongoing development and improvement, resulting in well-proven levels of educational achievement. It has a strongly Christian ethos. As a registered examination centre, Hindhead Campus gives pupils and students the opportunity to fulfil their potential with a high standard of learning being reflected in the excellent results achieved in nationally accredited examinations.
