About Shanghai United International School - Hongqiao Campus

Shanghai is at the centre of the burgeoning developments within Asia. A city of 20m+ which encompasses everything from glittering glass and marble skyscrapers to peasants' shanty-towns. Chinese fruit and vegetable markets stand side-by-side with designer emporiums. Shanghai is the new Hong Kong and it is here that the tectonic plates of East and West, of capitalism and communism, meet. Shanghai affords foreign residents a standard of living which is tempting. Families are safe in a society which is law-abiding and non-confrontational. A few years in Shanghai will change your life....

8000 new foreign workers come to Shanghai every year, and this ensures that international schools enjoy a secure future. SUIS is a Chinese school, enjoying a status which is markedly different to foreign 'national' schools (they are not able to educate Chinese nationals). We do not simply cater for the needs of ex-pats, but serve the full international community. Classrooms are modern and well-equipped. Primary colleagues enjoy a team-teaching approach (with two teachers per classroom). SUIS is presently an IB PYP candidate school at primary level and the secondary campus follows the National Curriculum of England and Wales up to IGCSE.
