DBIS is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic Secondary Learning Enhancement teacher (EAL support) to join our school to provide a personalised approach to student learning and support the pursuit of excellence. 


The Secondary Learning Enhancement teacher (EAL support) will work closely with the Learning Enhancement teaching team and will be expected to have significant experience in supporting learning. They will also have the ability to work effectively with individual students, small groups and whole classes, alongside class teachers. 


The successful candidate will be expected to work with students who need additional support. This includes students with learning, social, emotional, behavioural, and communication difficulties or long-term medical issues impacting educational development. As a DBIS teacher, the post holder will play a full role in the school’s curricular, extracurricular and pastoral programmes.


We are looking for an exceptional individual who wants to be part of our forward-thinking, dynamic Learning Enhancement team to support the delivery of our world-class education.


To be considered, it is essential to have:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a full-time class teaching role;
  • A bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in English, History or a closely related field;
  • A relevant postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS);
  • Proficiency in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL), with evidence of impact;
  • Experience in organising and providing exam accommodations;
  • Genuine enthusiasm for supporting student learning;
  • Commitment to providing quality support for teaching and learning;
  • High competence in the use of technology, with a genuine interest and understanding of digital safety and digital tools;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong organisational and exceptional interpersonal skills;
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.


It is desirable to have: 

  • A master’s or postgraduate qualification in a related subject;
  • Experience teaching (I)GCSE, BTEC and/or A Level to a high quality (applications from IB teachers will also be accepted), with a track record of exemplary examination results;
  • Experience in academic learning for proficiency;


All new teachers are offered two-year renewable contracts and a competitive compensation package, with a gratuity of 18.75%, an additional monthly cash allowance, remuneration of school fees for one child and full medical and dental insurance for the employee.
