Our examination results at (I)GCSE and A-Level are amongst the best of any school of our type globally.

To our teaching staff, we offer what is widely regarded to be one of the most competitive packages in the Middle East which includes a high tax-free salary, an accommodation allowance sufficient to cover high-quality accommodation on desirable expatriate compounds, medical insurance, school fee support (75% of fees in the school for up to three children), annual flights and a generous a settling-in allowance and end-of-service gratuity.

Our commitment to supporting your career is matched by our dedication to your well-being, with an innovative instructional coaching approach designed to ensure all teachers, however experienced, continue to learn and are helped to become the very best they can be. We also have a comprehensive induction and orientation programme, which allows new staff to effectively navigate the challenges that come with an international move. Our free on-site crèche for primary-aged children ensures that working parents are supported, and staff representation on our Board of Governors helps to shape the future strategic direction of the school.

Best of all, our vibrant international student community is a delight to work with, and our innovative approach encourages everyone at the College to bring with them ideas and a willingness to try new things.

If you are interested in joining our inspiring team which values your personal and professional growth – and you will bring a commitment to the highest standards, positivity, kindness and warmth – we very much look forward to receiving your application.

The opportunity

We seek an enthusiastic Secondary Music Teacher to join our expanding Music Department. This role involves teaching students from KS3 to KS5 with passion and energy, fostering a love for all genres of music both in the classroom and through co-curricular activities.

As part of our academic music team, you'll collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director of Music to promote music throughout the College. The successful candidate will inspire students, deliver engaging lessons, utilise resources effectively, and uphold high standards of learning and attainment.

Our inclusive, high-achieving department hosts exciting events, including the National Battle of the Bands and Qatar School Choir of the Year, and participates in prestigious competitions such as Young Musician of the Gulf and the COBIS Music Festival. With a team of six instrumental specialists, we offer a rich calendar of concerts, recitals, and productions throughout the year.

This role suits a creative, forward-thinking, and dedicated team player eager to join a vibrant department.

About you

The successful candidate must hold a Music Degree (BMus, B.Ed. (Music), BA) and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, iQTS); applications will not be considered without these.

You will be a motivated professional with a genuine passion for music, excellent subject knowledge, and a proven track record of delivering academic excellence and enhancing student achievement. Strong keyboard skills for accompanying choirs and ensembles are preferred. At Doha College, we value leadership at all levels and encourage candidates keen to further their leadership journey, aligning with our vision of "Excellence for all, excellence from all."

Strong organisational skills, communication, and time management are essential, along with the ability to lead various co-curricular ensembles. Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level music (or UK equivalent) is essential, and familiarity with music technology is beneficial. You will have demonstrated success in your current role, be highly motivated, and possess a true passion for music. Applicants should be willing to positively contribute to the school’s vision.

As a British international school, all lessons are taught in English, so a high standard of written and spoken English is essential.
