The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Secondary Teacher of Spanish to join our fantastic team. This is a Maternity Cover position.

About the role

The post holder will teach Spanish Lengua in as effective manner as possible to the range of abilities within our student body and to promote a genuinely positive approach to the subject. You will teach using a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning, meeting the demands of the syllabus and the needs of the students and you will assess students’ work in line with school policies and procedures referring to student performance targets.

Who we are looking for: 

To be considered for this role you will either have a degree in Spanish (Filología/Estudios Hispánicos) or in a humanities subject with 24 credits related to Lengua and/or literature OR to have taught Lengua in another school for at least 12 months. The CAP or Master’s in Secondary Education or, if trained in England, a PGCE recognised as the Spanish Master’s or the reconocimiento a la profesión. We would also expect strong organisational skills and an instinctive commitment to the safeguarding of young people, and an up-to-date knowledge of child protection procedures.
