Redriff Primary School (City of London Academy) is an outstanding mainstream school that has been accredited by the national autistic society and is a leading centre of excellence for autism. We are looking for SEMH Inclusion Assistants with a background, experience or an interest in working with children with SEMH needs who may have experienced significant trauma. You will support children’s learning needs, social inclusion and independence. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, resilient, self-motivated and respond well to the needs of the children.
You will work closely in a collaborative team led by the SENCO and receive a full induction and detailed training programme including Makaton foundation and Elklan speech and language awards and Trauma Informed training. We are an enthusiastic and friendly team and part of an outstanding school. These posts are suitable for those pursuing a career in working with children and families, psychology, aspiring teachers or future school direct candidates.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a C grade in GCSE Maths and English and good IT skills. Although not required, it is beneficial to have experience of working with children with SEMH needs.
A qualification in working with children, especially those with additional needs is desirable but not essential. He/she will be eager to apply evidence-based practice approaches and support the school’s achievement of various national accreditation programmes.
