Job overview
We are seeking a highly organised and efficient SEN Admin Assistant to join our team on a fixed term basis. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
As an SEN Admin Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting our Reception Admin Assistant with various administrative tasks, including handling incoming calls and receiving visitors. Additionally, you will work closely with the Inclusion Lead and SENDCo to support pupil consultations, take accurate minutes during professional meetings, and assist with other administrative duties related to Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming calls and greet visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
- Provide administrative support to the Inclusion Lead and SENDCo.
- Respond to pupil consultations and maintain accurate records.
- Minute-take during professional meetings and follow up on action points.
- Assist with a variety of other administrative tasks as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional organisational abilities with a focus on detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience in an administrative or school environment (desirable).
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and task management.

We are a Specialist Secondary Academy (11-16) for autistic children who also can present with SEMH needs. We enable and empower our students in a caring learning environment, supporting them to learn and flourish on their journey to adulthood.
With approximately 55 students across 9 classes, we want the whole-school community to be Happy to come to school, be Safe and eager to learn, and to make the best levels of Progress on their journey toward adulthood. All students are typically taught in class sizes of 6 or 7, with a high staff to pupil ratio, to support the removal of any barriers to learning.
During our learning day we focus upon supporting and nurturing every individual using a calm and consistent therapeutic approach which enables our students to develop core skills, knowledge and understanding so that they may achieve their aspirations, through qualifications, experiences and enjoyment. At Longspee Secondary we use a wide range of resources and teaching methods to engage our students, with a particular focus given to the development of key skills in English and Maths, improved levels of attention and concentration, social skill, and emotional health development, alongside building positive strategies for well-being and self-regulation.
