Sherwood Park School is an all age (3-19) Foundation Special School for pupils with Severe/ Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and /or disabilities (SLD/PMLD), as well as pupils who are on the Autistic spectrum (ASD) with complex needs. The school is unique, and comprises of the Sherwood Park and Sherwood Hill campuses to meet the highly individualised needs of each of the learners.
Sherwood Park School is a special school with high aspirations for all its pupils. We pride ourselves on putting the child at the centre of everything we do.
Our curriculum ensures that our pupils, who come from a wide range of backgrounds, have exceptional opportunities to excel and access exciting opportunities in school, and beyond school, to develop their physical, social and emotional well-being.
We are looking for a teacher with recent and successful class teaching experience who as has high expectations of what children and young people with profound / severe learning disabilities and autism can achieve.
Experience of teaching pupils with profound / severe learning disabilities and / or autism) experience of teaching in a special school or of teaching pupils with profound / severe learning disabilities and / or autism) is desirable, but we have lots of experience supporting teachers with a mainstream background to succeed. About Sherwood Park School
Sherwood Park is a school for pupils aged between 2 ½ and 19 years who have severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and some pupils who have Autistic Spectrum Disorders. It is a single-storey building situated at the east side of the London Borough of Sutton, adjacent to the historic Carew Manor, on the edge of Beddington Park. The whole site offers a modern, purpose-built environment with grounds that are in keeping with the local surroundings.
