Please note that this role is not suitable for newly qualified Speech and Language Therapists. This role would be suitable for candidates with knowledge and experience in line with agenda for change upper band 5/6.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialised speech, language, and communication support to children and young people (aged 4-19) with complex autism, learning difficulties, and behaviours that challenge, within a school setting. 
  • Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure every pupil's needs are understood, accurately planned for, and closely monitored.
  • Empower teaching staff with expert advice to support pupils' communication development, driving the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Provide both direct and indirect therapy to individuals and groups of pupils, ensuring tailored care and support.

We meet the needs of our pupils in Grade II* listed buildings dating back to 1754, which are located in the heart of the historic city centre of Chester, in the beautiful surroundings of Abbey Square.
