Mount House School is a small and ambitious co-educational independent day school for students aged 11 – 18 years located on a stunning rural site on Camlet Way in the London Borough of Barnet. With some 250 pupils currently on roll, the School has exciting plans to grow in the coming years. Following the recent appointment of the current Senior Deputy Head, Mr Jonathan Cooper, to the role of Head, succeeding Mrs Sarah Richardson in September 2025 after five years of excellent leadership, the opportunity has arisen for the School to seek out an ambitious Senior Deputy to support the ongoing advancement of Mount House and its inclusive educational offering.
The School now seeks an inspiring and dedicated Senior Deputy who will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operational day-to-day running of the School whilst supporting the delivery of its strategic vision set within a culture of high standards and aspiration for all. With the full support of the Board and Directors, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the ongoing growth and development of Mount House as it moves into the next exciting chapter.
The Senior Deputy Head will be an ambitious and committed educational leader with a proven track record of delivering change, ideally within the context of a small to medium sized independent school with a similarly inclusive and rounded educational ethos. The successful candidate will bring demonstrable academic management experience, outstanding communication skills, a passion for high-quality teaching and learning and the interpersonal skills to engage, support and develop a committed staff body.
