Job overview

We are seeking a passionate and driven individual to join us as a Senior Deputy Head, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the school and acting as ‘the final stop’ before the Head on all matters pertaining to children’s education at Walhampton. The post would suit an ambitious candidate aspiring for headship in a few years’ time.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head, contributing effectively to develop and deliver the School’s strategic vision and providing leadership and direction to colleagues across the organisation. The role of Senior Deputy Head presents a unique leadership opportunity to play a key role in bringing clarity and coherence to the educational offering, ensuring that the highest standards of behaviour, learning and academic attainment prevail across the School, while maintaining and extending the School’s reputation for outstanding pastoral care, and aligning wellbeing and education.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to offer insight and challenge on the key priorities for the School’s development, playing a key role in formulating school policy, contributing to strategic development, and overseeing the professional development of teaching staff and the Performance Review cycle.

This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact and prepare for future headship roles. If you are ready to take on a new challenge and play a key role in bringing clarity and coherence to the educational offering at Walhampton, we want to hear from you!
