We are looking to recruit a committed Senior Learning Associate (Class Teacher) to join us in reimagining schooling and on our journey to excellence.
Liberty Woodland School is an innovative, progressive outdoor school where we:
- Take a rigorous approach to teaching and learning across the curriculum inspired by our 3 acre outdoor site
- Teach through a project based cross-curricular learning approach. Projects are designed with the children’s interests in mind providing authentic learning opportunities and driven towards meaningful end goals.
- Take a ‘stage not age’ approach to planning and teaching
- Work hard as a team; strive for the very best outcomes for pupils and continually seek to respond to what research tells us about how children learn best

- Are open for children from Monday- Thursday and on Fridays meet as a staff team for CPD and PPA
We are looking for a KS1 teacher who:
- Has a passion for outdoor education
- Is reflective, open to feedback and driven to constantly improve
- Is excited to develop cross-curricular projects inspired by the children’s interests
- Sets high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
- Demonstrates good subject and curriculum knowledge
- Is a team player who goes the extra mile day in day out for the children in their care
- Has excellent communication skills

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check in addition to other vetting checks and will also must be able to provide satisfactory references. All school staff complete Safeguarding training, both during induction and on an ongoing basis.
Please Note: Due to the outdoor element of the school there are physical demands of this role. The work is practical by definition and moderate levels of physical effort. It involves lifting and handling of training equipment, play equipment and other resources and to be involved in practical activities and physical care of learners and the environment. Activities are mainly out of doors and this will require walking and managing on uneven surfaces and in unpredictable weather conditions. You are required to be a role model for the staff and learners you work with, adhering to the Health & Safety procedures.
