Then Becton School may be exactly what you are looking for…

Becton School provides hospital education within Sheffield and is part of Nexus Multi-Academy Trust. Every day we make a difference to the lives of the children and young people in our community, all of whom have some form of medical need. These vary from chronic and complex Mental Health Disorders through to a wide variety of Acute Medical Conditions. We are proud of our great reputation with children and families, other professionals, other agencies and Sheffield Local Authority.

Our shared vision for Nexus Multi-Academy Trust is that we are constantly "Learning together, to be the best we can be". This vision is what we aspire for and is as relatable to every employee and partner of our Trust as it is to our children, young people and their families. We are fully committed to partnerships and all of the educational benefits of collaborative working. You can find out more at: www.nexusmat.org

The students at Becton School have often missed a large part of their education for a variety of reasons. Although we know we cannot change their past experiences, we can work together to transform their futures. The students are at the heart of everything we do and we strongly believe it is our responsibility to provide a place where everyone feels welcome, safe, secure and highly valued. We are also proud to work in close partnership with parents and carers to ensure our children and young people develop skills for life. We are here to ensure that every single student has the best opportunities to flourish through personalised learning.

We are currently looking to appoint a highly skilled and passionate Learning Mentor with a drive for supporting children’s education regardless of their needs. You will need strong child-centred values, resilience and a proven ability to deliver exceptional learning experiences for all our students.

Applications are welcome from candidates in all educational settings (including in mainstream settings) and who can demonstrate appropriate knowledge and skills.
