We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Science Technician to join our team and support the Science Department in delivering high-quality education. You will be responsible for managing the science technician team and ensuring that the school’s laboratories are well-maintained, safe, and equipped for effective teaching.

Contract Type: Term time only plus 3 training days, 37 hours a week

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of timely and effective support to all teachers in the Science department, and the supervision and line management of Science technicians employed by the College. The post is likely to appeal to individuals with experience of working within a laboratory environment and someone with an understanding of CLEAPSS and other Health and Safety codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct the Science Technician staff to provide timely support for teachers
- Oversee the setup of practical lessons and ensure equipment is well-maintained
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations in all labs
- Advise on improvements to laboratory operations and curriculum support
- Manage stock levels, budgets, and purchasing of materials and equipment
- Stay updated with CLEAPSS guidance and ensure best practices are applied

About Cromwell Community College
Cromwell Community College is a co-educational secondary school located in the market town of Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. It educates around 1,100 pupils aged 11-18. The school became a comprehensive in 1969 and converted to academy status in 2012.
Over the years, Cromwell Community College has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation, with the most recent project completed in 2012. The school has its own sixth form, with dedicated facilities and study areas for post-16 students.
