Role: The successful candidate will be employed as a Singing Teacher by Leeds West Academy.
The main duties of the role will be to provide administrative and clerical support to the academy’s admin team.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Teach a minimum of 4 hours per week in term time over 33 weeks, with the option to increase depending on demand, and interest for extra curricular activities.
• Deliver singing lessons to Key Stage 3 students in small groups.
• Deliver singing lessons to Key Stage 4 students, liaising with the Curriculum Leader for Music to cover the requirements of the Key Stage 4 music courses.
• To guide and encourage students to complete appropriate singing exams where applicable.
• Possibility of starting a vocal group. As part of the vocal group you will be responsible for preparing pieces for performances as directed by the Curriculum Leader of Music.
• Encourage students to attend the vocal group, and promote the extra curricular clubs within Performing Arts.
• Where appropriate the teacher would be expected to stay and help out with academy performances where vocal group material is a feature.

About Leeds West Academy
Leeds West is a co-educational, non-denominational 11-16 secondary in the city’s district of Bramley. The school is a member of the White Rose Academies Trust. There are currently approximately 1,300 students on the school roll. The school is located near Summerfield Primary School and Stanningley Park. The school offers an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities from martial arts to chess. The school is also sponsored by Leeds City College.
