Values and vision

Lewes Old Grammar School is committed to creating an environment where each individual is known and cared for. Students are supported to achieve their academic potential. Teachers strive to develop young people who are at ease with themselves and confident to face the challenges of life.

Central to the school’s vision is the conviction that each child is an individual who has valuable capabilities. The curriculum provides opportunities that teach students how to think, rather than simply what to think. Questions are valued above answers and the pursuit of excellence is valued above standardised performance.
