32.5 hours per week, term-time only
We are seeking graduates including those about to graduate to join our school to support students across KS3, 4 and 5 and would welcome in particular candidates with degrees in mathematics, science, English and modern foreign languages but not essential.You will work in a subject department and also be a member of our Innovations and Inclusion team. This is an ideal post for aspiring teachers. For candidates interested in teaching we run a pre-ITT training delivered as twilights throughout the year.
Bentley Wood High had a phenomenal 0.87 progress 8 score in 2017 building on exceptional 0.7 in 2016. Students achieved 72% grades 9-4 in both English & maths. The achievement in E-Bacc at 45% is significantly higher than schools nationally. Many subjects achieved strong results close to 50% or higher at A*\A or 9-7 grades.

Ofsted ReportBentley Wood was inspected by Ofsted on 14th and 15th November 2023. This was the school’s first inspection since we were graded as Outstanding in May 2012. I am delighted to inform you that we have been graded as Outstanding once again.
The opening line of this written report truly encapsulates what is it like to attend Bentley Wood High School. The Inspectors wrote:
‘Pupils develop into confident and caring young people at this school. The school sets high expectations for both behaviour and achievement. Pupils demonstrate exceptional behaviour and focus well in the classroom. They are respectful towards each other and their teachers, and understand the importance of positive attitudes. This is underpinned by the school’s values of CARE: communication, achievement, respect and empathy, which are embraced by the school community’
