Loretto School is one of Britain’s leading independent boarding and day schools located on the outskirts of Edinburgh and we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sports Coach to join our Team. 

 

Reporting to the Director of Sport, you will create session plans for games groups, identifying key themes for games sessions across all year groups and teams from U13 to 1st XI. You will be a specialist in Hockey and support the Head of Hockey deliver an outstanding program. Outside of the hockey terms you will be expected to coach a variety of sports in the Senior and Junior School in the summer term. This will be coordinated between the Director of Sport and Junior School PE & Games teacher.

 

We are looking for a commitment to the quality of coaching, learning and teaching in the Sports Department and the provision of an engaging and inspiring experience for the pupils. 

 

You will be expected to possess the following qualities:

 

·        A passion for sport and a desire to share this with pupils,

·        The ability to plan, prepare and deliver creative and challenging coaching to all pupils,

·        An interest in using innovative methods, including ICT, to enhance learning and teaching where appropriate,

·        Good organisational skills, complete honesty and punctuality,

·        Ability to work well as part of a team and to share ideas with colleagues

·        Experience of playing sport to a high level

·        Relevant coaching qualification, preferable to UKCC level 2

You will have excellent communications skills and a ‘can-do’ approach.

Salary will be determined by experience and aptitude for the role but will be in the region of £26,000 to £28,000 per annum.
