Tes is supporting the appointment of a teacher at a school in Wiltshire. Are you an outstanding Specialist KS3/4 ASC Teacher with extensive experience of working with Autistic children/young people in an education setting and a passion for inclusion, enabling all children to overcome barriers to learning?  

The school are looking for a proactive, resourceful, and energetic Specialist KS3/4 (Secondary) ASC Teacher for work across the curriculum, with the support of their specialist teachers covering Art, Design/DT, PE, Maths and English.  

You should be self-motivated with a creative approach to curriculum delivery and have the skills to continuously improve the learning experience for the pupils. You should have experience of working with young people with Autism and complex needs and understand what approaches work well and how building positive relationships are key. 

Over the last two years the school has been through positive changes and developments, with a new Headteacher, strengthened Senior Leadership Team, and a revised business strategy to support significant growth. 

The position of Specialist KS3/4 ASC Teacher has been created to support the growth of the school and the needs of the pupils, it is a great opportunity to be part of a team proving the very best possible educational opportunities for pupils within a nurturing and supportive setting. 


The school is an independent special school that provides education for pupils aged 5 to 19 with SEMH, ASC and associated complex difficulties. All pupils on roll have an EHCP and the school uses a therapeutic approach to support pupils with their individual difficulties. Everything the school does is based on positive relationships and viewing behaviour as communication. 

As a Specialist KS3/4 ASC Teacher, you will work in an immensely rewarding, although often challenging environment, contributing to supporting the development of social, life and independence skills and truly making a difference in the lives of pupils. 

To truly meet their needs, and set them up for successful adult lives, the school think beyond conventional education and meet their broader holistic potential and help to influence the society that they are part of to be more connected, inclusive, and compassionate. 

All staff at the school demonstrate compassion, understanding and flexibility in their approach ensuring progression is central to all lessons whilst giving pupils the confidence to grow as they progress.
