This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to join the Educational Psychology Service. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join us in strengthening and expanding upon our service offer to ensure the very best educational support for children in care in Kirklees.
We are seeking exceptional teachers who will work alongside our Educational Psychologists and Senior Inclusion Workers for Children in Care who:
- Have substantial experience of working with children in care/children with social workers
- Are passionate about promoting inclusion and supporting teaching and support staff across mainstream schools in Kirklees to achieve the best outcomes for children in care
- Have experience of assessment, planning and implementation of successful support for children in care
- Have a strong focus on whole school trauma informed approaches that contribute to improving outcomes for our most vulnerable pupils
- Are able to build upon our successful implementation of the Alex Timpson programme across a wider range of schools and colleges in the LA by delivering training to a broad range of staff and supporting schools to embed best practice
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Have the ability to build strong working relationships with mainstream school and college colleagues, develop strong links with outside agencies and work in partnership with foster carers
- Are reflective practitioners and have high expectations of themselves and others
- Are flexible and adaptable and strong team players
- Are committed to the safeguarding of all children and young people
- Have additional qualifications/strong CPD track record in supporting with children in care/children with social workers and are committed to deepening and developing their understanding of trauma informed approaches.
School and home visits are an essential part of this role and a full driver’s licence and access to a car are essential to this job.
