Who we are:
We are a successful, dynamic and forward thinking science department with a strong emphasis on developing teachers in their subject specialism. The team are constantly reflecting and sharing ideas and are aided by a Science Lead Practitioner to encourage and facilitate this behaviour. Our heads of subject (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) regularly hold CPD on their specific areas based on feedback from the team with the aim being to improve and refine subject knowledge in preparation for the new GSCE and A Level qualifications. Our customised KS3 syllabus enhances our pupil’s ability to become successful GCSE students through a spiralled curriculum that reinforces key scientific concepts and progressively builds upon them to GCSE.
Within the department there are experienced teachers, a Lead Practitioner and the support of members of the Senior Leadership Team. The department prides itself on its innovation and excellence in moving practice on to support student development.
As a National Teaching School, Southfields Academy offers a comprehensive and well thought of support programme for NQTs led by Senior Staff.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a motivated and inspiring teacher who is a specialist in Biology, Chemistry or Physics and will be able to teach their specialism to students of all abilities up to A Level. Candidates will need excellent planning skills, good classroom management and be able to teach in a variety of teaching and learning styles. This post would suit an N.Q.T. or an experienced teacher. We are mostly looking for a like-minded candidate whose philosophy of education is based on developing STEM education and scientific thinking and who is prepared to deliver this to students from a wide range of backgrounds.

Who we are
Southfields Academy was a stand-alone converter academy situated in South West London on the Southfields - Earlsfield border and in 2018 founded the Southfields Multi-Academy Trust with its partner Linden Lodge School.
The Academy is the modern incarnation of Southfields School which was founded in 1949. The school was founded on the principles of providing a truly comprehensive education for local children encompassing the very best in academic rigour and the provision of outstanding opportunities in applied learning and vocational subjects. Staff are automatically enrolled as members of the Aspire Centre which is the Academy's onsite sports centre and adult learning facility. Staff can use the fitness suite and the swimming pool during supervised sessions before the school day begins and on some nights after school.
Staff are provided with tea and coffee during break time and there is a designated staff counter in the dining room at which staff can purchase hot food, salads, sandwiches and soup at cost price during the school day.
The Academy has a private day nursery on site at which staff can enrol their children and at which a discount is available for Academy staff. Subject to the position and to negotiation with the Principal part time working is supported at all levels.
