Job overview

Applications are welcomed from dynamic and inspirational Speech and Language Therapist, who wish to make a difference by safeguarding, raising standards and improving the life chances, behaviour and levels of attainment for some of the most vulnerable students whose previous educational experience, for whatever reason, has not been positive.

We are an Independent Special Needs day school for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, Autistic Spectrum disorder and other complex needs. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and are placed by a wide range of local authorities. Typically, the pupils placed at our school have had significantly disrupted educational journey's. Our small school with a manageable case load is based on three School Sites across North London and our Outreach services work across 12 Greater London Authorities.

This role involves providing integrated SALT services to young people in our school based over multiple sites which includes a specialist 6th Form provision.

You will be committed to providing the best opportunities for our students and ensuring every young person is supported to achieve their full potential. You will demonstrate a flexible approach to education and therapy, a willingness to get involved in all aspects of school life, and the ability to work under pressure with young people that can challenge us. You will have previous experience of working with young people with autism in other educational settings. Experience of working with young people with behaviour needs or mental health needs would also be desirable.

This role may suit those looking to work a shorter day as our work day is 9am-3pm, term time only.

Please note that we can only accept our standard application form and not CV’s.

Informal discussions are welcomed by contacting the School Office on 0208 446 0300.

The Southover Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share the same commitment. The post is subject to an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and a range of other recruitment checks. All adults employed by the school have a responsibility for data protection and have a duty to observe and follow the principles of the GDPR Regulations.

The Southover Partnership welcomes applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, age or sexual orientation. All applicants must be able to provide evidence of their Right to Work in the UK to be considered for this position.

PLEASE NOTE: We reserve the right depending on the number of applications received to shortlist and interview candidates prior to the closing date.
