Compass Learning Partnership is looking to appoint a Speech and Language Therapy Lead to join the established therapy team at The Village School. The successful candidates may work across the Trust.

The Village School is a large Special Needs School located on three sites across Brent for children aged 3-19 with a wide range of complex needs; all levels of learning, communication, ASD, physical, medical and sensory impairment.

Successful candidates will join a large, established Therapy Team. CPD and research opportunities are considered vital to the provision of a high-quality service, and these are actively encouraged. The post will have regular supervision, and newly qualified applicants will receive support in completing their competencies. 

Therapists support whole school activities as well as work in class by providing class-based/small group/individual sessions for pupils. The Team Lead position would liaise closely with the school Therapy Lead and supervise the current team of Speech and Language Therapists and assistants. 

The successful applicant will have the following skills:

  • Degree/Masters in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent)
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to support and lead a team effectively
  • Strong knowledge and skills to assess/manage the speech and language needs of pupils
  • The ability to select and apply current theory and clinical practice in the provision of speech and language therapy
  • Run internal training for education staff
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The enthusiasm and ability to motivate young children and build on their successes.
  • A commitment to high expectations to meet the needs of all children.
  • Willingness to give 100%!
