Job overview
We are looking to appoint a Sports Assistant at our popular co-ed school in the heart of Notting Hill and be part of a highly committed and passionate team.
This post is suitable for a recent graduate thinking of entering the teaching profession or a sports coach looking to further their career.
The post requires an individual with the ability to support lessons, coach teams and help to inspire our pupils. You must be motivated, highly organised, approachable, with good interpersonal skills, particularly when communicating with parents. The successful candidate will have the ability to support at least two of the school’s main sports of football, rugby, netball, hockey, and cricket. The capability to coach swimming and have experience of working with a variety of ages would also be beneficial.
Notting Hill Prep is a “Thinking School”, a title which reflects its intelligent approach to education and its devotion to instilling in its children the values of resilience, creativity, and responsibility, which it holds dear. The school aims to teach children not merely to learn, but to learn how to learn. The ability to imbed ‘Thinking School’ practices in all lessons will be a requirement.
This role will involve contact with and responsibility for children and will amount to ‘regulated activity’.
The salary will be competitive and subject to experience. Free school lunches are provided.
If you are keen to join our team, please tick the ‘Apply’ button to submit your application form.
The closing date is 9am on Friday 10th May 2024. Early application is recommended as interviews will be organised on receipt of application. Short-listed candidates can expect to have an interview and to lead a small group practical activity.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the DBS.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are ‘spent’ unless they are ‘protected’ under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
NHP is an equal opportunities employer.
