We're seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sports Centre Assistant to join one of our friendly Sports Centre teams, within the Stockport area. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our facilities provide a welcoming and positive experience for all our members. You will be responsible for supporting the daily interaction with community users along with the day-to-day cleaning, setting up and supervision of gym and sports facilities. 

Our sports centres, within Stockport, consist of Club Cheadle Hulme & Club Laurus. Club Cheadle Hulme is located in Cheadle Hulme High School’s grounds. Club Laurus is located in Laurus Cheadle Hulme School's grounds. Both centres offer a wide range of sporting and recreational activities for all ages. Job Purpose (For further details on the role, please see the Job Description attached below)

  • To assist in the smooth running of the sports centre facilities. 
  • To liaise with the Heads of the School PE Department to ensure smooth operation/changeover between school and community use.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent
  •  Must be able to move equipment correctly. (e.g. badminton posts, table tennis tables) 
  •  Prior experience in a similar role

Central Services

The nucleus of the Trust is our multi-functional and dedicated Central Services Team who provides continuous operational support to all of our schools across the Trust. This includes HR, Recruitment, Finance, Payroll & Pensions Administration, Marketing & Communications, IT, Estates & Facilities Management and Compliance and Data. Each team works tirelessly to ensure all services run smoothly and efficiently, enabling our teaching staff to focus on delivering an outstanding education for our students.

Our Schools

Over the years the Trust has expanded to now include 6 Secondary Schools and 3 Primary Schools. We have two further schools in the pre-opening phase: Laurus Grace, a school catering for students with significant social, emotional and mental health needs, and Crown Street Primary, a new primary in the heart of Manchester City Centre. Our family of schools are:

· Gorsey Bank Primary School - joined the Trust in 2016

· Cheadle Hulme Primary School  - opened in September 2018

· Laurus Cheadle Hulme   - opened in September 2018

· Laurus Ryecroft  - opened in September 2018

· Hazel Grove High School- joined the Trust in September 2019

· Woodford Primary School - opened in September 2022

· Priestnall School - joined the Trust in September 2023

· Crown Street Primary School - opening in September 2024

· Laurus Grace - opening in 2025
