Due to succession planning, Beam County Primary School is seeking an additional dynamic and enthusiastic Primary School Sports Coach/Teacher to join our dedicated and successful sporting team. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among primary school students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and education, focusing on nurturing young athletes' potential.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate sports and physical education programs for primary school pupils.
- Provide high-quality coaching in various sports, fostering skill development and a love for physical activity.
- Organise and oversee intra-school sports events, inter-school competitions, and sports festivals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive sports culture, encouraging participation and fair play among pupils.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate sports and physical education into the overall curriculum.
- Monitor and assess pupils' progress, providing feedback and support for improvement.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students, both on and off the field.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during sports activities and events.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding pupils' progress and achievements in sports.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in sports coaching and physical education.
- Providing extra-curricular clubs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
- As a qualified Sports Coach, to be qualified to at least Level 2
- Relevant certifications in sports coaching and first aid.
- Previous experience working with primary school pupils in a coaching or teaching capacity.
- Strong knowledge of various sports and physical education concepts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire pupils to participate in physical activities.
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability in teaching methods.
- Commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among pupils.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
