Job overview
Itchen Sixth Form College is seeking a dedicated and organised individual to coordinate homestay accommodation for our international students. This role is essential in providing a warm and welcoming home environment for our students, ensuring their comfort and well-being during their time at Itchen Sixth Form College.
The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting and screening potential host families, matching students with suitable hosts, and providing comprehensive training and guidance to host families. They will maintain regular communication with both host families and students, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
Additionally, the Homestay Coordinator will maintain accurate records of student placements, host family information, and relevant documentation. They will prepare reports and statistics as required.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and time management skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should be able to build strong relationships with students and host families, and have problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a background in administration is essential, experience in a similar role or working with international students is desirable. Use of own car is essential.

Itchen College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college in Hampshire, serving students from the age of 16-19. The college, situated in Southampton has approximately 1,558 learners on record.
Itchen College was founded in 1906 as a co-educational secondary school and later Itchen Grammar School. It welcomes learners from across the world, with 10% making up international students. Facilities on the campus include a sports centre, performing arts block – features Apple Mac suites, recording studios and soundproof music rooms, and a Student Centre for students to relax in during their study breaks.
