Job overview

The Governing Body wish to appoint a Student Services Receptionist to join our dynamic and friendly team at Cansfield High School. Applicants will need to be approachable and empathetic whilst being able to multi task to ensure the smooth running of our Student Services Reception.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, proactive and able to work efficiently and flexibly. The ability to prioritise workload, be organised and remain calm in a busy environment is paramount.

This is Fixed Term Contract for 12 months, however, there is a strong possibility that this will be made permanent

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, understanding and have a passion for making a difference. You will be an excellent communicator, have sound analytical skills and be flexible in your approach. You will have the ability to build strong professional working relationships with students, parents, carers and colleagues and think on your feet.

This is a support staff role working 37 hours per week, term time only.

Cansfield High School is a co-educational school based in Wigan for students aged 11-16. It is a non-denominational school.

The school aims to help students to develop aesthetic sensitivity. It also wishes to promote self-esteem and respect for others among students so that they become tolerant of people who have different opinions to them.

For a child to reach their full educational achievement, the school believes a high level of school attendance is essential. It has dedicated itself consistently to working towards a goal of 100% attendance for all pupils. The school has also affirmed that it will use every opportunity it can to convey to pupils and their parents or carers the importance of regular and punctual attendance.
