At Langdon Park School we are seeking to appoint professionals of the highest calibre as we fulfil our ambition to transform the life chances of our students and their community. Langdon Park School has served the community for well over 100 years. We enjoy a large campus comprised of both original Victorian buildings and state of the art new builds. Spotlight youth service share part of our site and we have access to a range of additional services and provisions as a result of this. The local community is tight knit, hugely supportive of the school and where the vast majority of our students live. Main Responsibilities

  •  Each Student Support Officer is attached to a year group under the line management of the Head of Year or designated person.
  • Principally, carry out responsibilities as set out in sections (b) – (d) below.
  •  On occasion, as necessary, carry out as directed any responsibilities associated with the job descriptions for Scale 4 Teaching Assistant and Scale 4 Central Support Officer
  •  Take all appropriate steps to establish a good knowledge of and good relationship with key students across all year groups, including providing informal mentoring as appropriate
  •  Carry out home visits, as appropriate, to secure improved partnership working with families
  •  Contribute as required to the induction programme for newly-appointed support staff and/or the mentoring of trainees.
  •  Undertaking exam invigilation, as required.
  • Contribute as necessary to student supervision duties, including at the following times :
  •  Before and after school
  • Break
  • Lunchtime
  • Participate as appropriate in the school’s agreed Performance Management Programme.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to own continuing professional development, through participation in appropriate training.
  • Maintain awareness of and comply with all relevant school policies –particularly any matters relating to Confidentiality, Safeguarding, Health & Safety or Equal Opportunities.
  • Undertake any additional duties or responsibilities as reasonably directed by the Headteacher, commensurate with the scope and grade of the post.

Langdon Park School is easily accessible from all parts of London and the south east. We have a DLR station outside the main reception: we are 20 mins away from central London. We have staff parking for those that require it.
