Job overview

Post: Subject Leader: Design and Technology (Product Design)

Start date: 1st September 2025

TLR: competitive TLR offered dependent on experience.

Governors are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a new Subject Leader of Design and Technology (Product Design) at Bishop Perowne, a thriving school with a supportive and forward-thinking department.

As we begin a major refurbishment of our Design and Technology facilities, this is the perfect time to join our dedicated team, helping to lead and shape the future of the subject.

This role comes about due to the expansion of the Design and Technology department. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Design and Technology teacher with leadership experience or someone with leadership potential, looking to take their first steps into subject leadership.

We offer leadership coaching and senior mentoring, plus we facilitate completion of relevant NPQ certificates, for all middle leaders. To us, strong middle leadership is the engine of the school.

Design and Technology is a valued part of the curriculum at Bishop Perowne and this appointment will allow us to tailor our offer even more closely to the needs of our students.

Bishop Perowne is a school that works hard to make a lasting impact on students' futures, serving a diverse community. Our values and ethos are deep rooted, so we are looking for new staff members with a genuine desire to make a difference through high expectations and a strong work ethic.

This job represents a genuine opportunity to make a difference to a young person’s life in line with our vision statement “At Bishop Perowne, we do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit but humbly count others more significant than ourselves. (Philippians 2:3)”.
