We are looking for a passionate Business Tutor to join the high achieving Business department. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver inspiring lessons, bring knowledge and experience to the curriculum, and have a desire to teach beyond the specification, believing every student can succeed. Furthermore, they will have an appreciation that the commitment to delivering outstanding educational outcomes goes beyond the classroom.
All staff within the Trust need to have a commitment to professional development, an enthusiasm for teamwork and a passion for improvement.

Business Department
Business is a large and successful department made up of 24 lively, enthusiastic and dedicated teachers, led by supportive curriculum managers. Collaboration is at the heart of the area, and teaching materials are shared centrally. The department is well resourced with an extensive bank of presentations, activities, packs, etc. Business staff share an office with accounting and financial studies teachers.

- Management structure: There is a senior curriculum manager for A level business, and one for vocational business. They are supported by curriculum managers.
- Exam board specification: AQA (A level business). BTEC (vocational business).
- Department facilities: All BTEC classrooms have computers in them, and there are Chromebooks available to students in other specialist business classrooms. Each teacher is provided with a PC in the office and a portable personal device.
Day to Day Expectations of a Teacher
A full time teacher will have 22.5 hours per week contact with students, split over 5 Teaching groups (15 periods) with 5 additional periods for preparation & marking.
On a Tuesday staff departmental meetings / all staff CPD takes place after college, finishing at 5.20pm.
Throughout the year there are a number of whole college events, (open evenings, parent evenings, Interview day, enrolment and briefings) at which attendance is required.
Common resources are shared within departments and there are regular opportunities for professional development, delivering extracurricular student clubs and wellbeing / social activities.

As a new member of staff you will receive plenty of support from your colleagues both from the department and from the wider college community. This will include:
- a mentor to help you through the first year (in particular);
- support from your curriculum manager and director of faculty; and
- an extensive programme for all new staff to help induct you into College life as well as to develop your approach to teaching

The Sixth Form College Farnborough is a sixth form college located in the town of the same name, in Hampshire. Since September 2017, The College has been part of The Prospect Trust, a multi-academy trust. The College had originally been a grammar school founded in 1936, becoming a full sixth form college in 1992. The college is co-educational, with over 3900 students aged 16-19. Since its establishment as a sixth form, the college has undergone extensive redevelopment and modernisation, and as a result can boast of a wide range of high-quality teaching and recreational facilities such as a brand-new purpose-built teaching block opened in 2010 containing teaching facilities for physics, electronics and photography among others. Around a third of the students at the college are on mixed programmes of study combining A levels and vocational courses. The college offers 33 A-level courses, with the largest being in psychology and mathematics. Of the 11 vocational courses, the largest are in criminology and business.
