Role summary 

We are looking for experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic, TEFLQ qualified teachers to plan and teach lessons within the curriculum framework of the summer schools, and support fellow teachers in their role. 

The post holders will report to the Director of Studies, and will have no line reports. 

The following vacancies are available for summer 2025: 

Westonbirt School 

  • Programme dates: 6 July – 3 August
  • Paid induction days: 3-5 July (2.5 days)
  • Residential: Yes

Hatherop Castle School 

  • Programme dates: 13 – 27 July 
  • Paid induction days: 10-12 July (2.5 days)
  • Residential: Yes

Duties 

The post holder will undertake the below responsibilities.

Planning: To plan relevant, structured, realistically paced, varied and enjoyable lessons within the curriculum framework of the summer schools. Lessons will include English language and Integration Project sessions.  

Teaching: To teach the above lessons in an inclusive, motivational and inspirational way, always in the target language, promoting the use of the target language at all times, creating a positive learning environment in which every student can develop and feel empowered to make real progress. 

Mentoring: To support other teachers as an experienced peer in planning and teaching their sessions.

Feedback: To provide formal and informal feedback to students on their progress, including marking student work, writing a final report and communicating with the student and other stakeholders.

Academic administration: To undertake all required administrative tasks related to teaching and planning, including taking registers, recording progress and conducting level tests.

Level testing: To take part in testing students’ English language level on arrival.

Pastoral care: To provide a nurturing environment to all students, showing awareness of their needs as short-term study abroad pupils, taking part in supervision duties both on-site and off-site and acting appropriately on emerging needs. 

Other duties: To undertake any other relevant duties pertaining to the summer school provision, as reasonably requested. 

Working pattern 

The weekly working hours are 48. 

Duties will be assigned on the weekly rota for six out of seven days a week. 

Pay and benefits 

The weekly wage is £850 (including holiday pay).
