Job overview
We are currently recruiting for a Supervised Study and Cover Supervisor to work during term time only on a casual basis with an immediate start. The successful applicant will oversee and support students’ independent study sessions during the school day and supervise absent teachers’ cover lessons where appropriate, and as time allows.

Duties
You will be expected to:
- Cover lessons, activities, duties, and study sessions as required by the day’s cover requirements
- When covering, take the register using iSAMS (or SOCS for activities) updating it for any late arrivals and following procedures with relation to missing students
- Distribute work set in accordance with the school policy to the students and collect in, if required, at the end of the lesson
- Manage student behaviours to sustain a positive working environment and record relevant positive, negative or student progress behaviours in iSAMS and liaise with Heads of Year, Heads of Department or House Parents as appropriate.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with effective organisational skills. You must be reliable, flexible and have the ability to deal with challenging situations sensitively. Previous experience in an educational environment is desirable but not essential. An ability to use your initiative and willingness to work as part of a team is essential.
This post is Regulated Activity.
Hours of Work
This post is offered on a casual basis and hours will be discussed during the interview. Lessons at Bedales run from 9am to 5.30pm. There is a need for this role from Monday to Friday and we would also welcome applicants who wanted to job share.
Salary
£12.03 per hour.

About Bedales School
Bedales School is an independent, co-educational, selective, day and boarding school for children aged 3-18. It is situated in Petersfield in Hampshire and there are 460 pupils on its roll. There are admission fees and scholarships and bursaries are available.
Bedales is a charitable trust and was founded in 1893 by J H Badley as a humane alternative to the authoritarian regimes of the late-Victorian public schools. Its founding ethos was, and still is, “Head, Hand and Heart.”
