THE POST

Aldar Education is currently seeking a whole-school Swimming Coach for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi for an immediate start. 

Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculum, mixed gender school until Year 8 and a girl’s only Senior School (Year 9-13). It is located in a state of the art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main Responsibilities:

·  Teaching swimming as directed by the Head of PE.

·  Planning and delivering engaging lessons.

·  Organising and participating in swim galas and other sports related activities.

·  Running extra-curricular swim provision.

·  Managing and ensuring the health and safety of students in the pool in line with the school’s and ADEK’s health and safety protocols (following the school’s NOP and EAP).

·  Participate in meetings with the PE team to ensure high teaching standards are met.

·  Lead training and professional development for staff to ensure they feel confident to teach Swimming.

·  Contribute to the Monitoring, Evaluating and Review processes to quality assure the provision of swimming.

·  Oversee the swimming curriculum to ensure there is consistency, progression and opportunities for challenge.

·  To support the PE department with day-to-day tasks and whole school events.

·  Other duties as assigned within the remit of the role.


REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

·  Level 2 Swimming Coaching Qualification 

Minimum Experience:

·  Experience of leading whole school swimming initiatives is desirable

·  Strong inter-personal skills

·  Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, deal with challenging situations and be resilient

About Mamoura British Academy

Al Mamoura Academy is a partly co-educational international school located in Abu Dhabi, first accepting an intake of students in 2016. The school has primary and secondary areas, with the school’s primary division being co-educational and secondary being girls-only. As a newly built school, Al Mamoura Academy is able to boast of a huge range of modern teaching and recreational facilities, such as an auditorium, a swimming pool, numerous sports courts and halls, as well as a fully equipped library and extensive IT facilities. The curriculum at Al Mamoura Academy is primarily based on the English curriculum in primary phases, whilst secondary phases offer a wider range of international qualifications including GCSEs and A-level studies as well as a US Curriculum pathway. The school also offers Arabic and Islamic studies programmes should students wish to study them. In addition to this, the school has a wide range of extra-curricular activities available for students to take part in.
