Required from April 2025 is a Full-Time Equivalent Teacher of Outdoor Education, based at Trewern Outdoor Centre, near Hay on Wye. Applications will be considered from both qualified and unqualified teachers.
Owned and operated by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham for over 50 years, Trewern Outdoor Education Centre offers outdoor activity and field study courses to Primary and Secondary schools from the borough. The facilities are also available to other groups throughout the year. A highly respected Centre, it is located in beautiful countryside on the border between England and Wales, near the small market town of Hay-on-Wye and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Additionally, Trewern has extensive grounds which offer potential for a broad range of on-site activities and is expanding with an increasingly diverse offer and client base. Special requirements for this post
This is an exciting opportunity to join part of a dedicated and growing team who all share a passion for the impact that outdoor education can have on children and young people's outcomes. Candidates must have experience working in both the outdoors and a residential setting and hold a minimum of two appropriate NGB's. Ability to drive a minibus is essential. It is important to note that applications will be considered from qualified and unqualified teachers.
