Teaching ServiceLithgow High School is a comprehensive public high school, located on the eastern boundary of the Lithgow Network, on the Western slope of the Blue Mountains and the gateway to the Central West. The student population of approximately 750 is reflective of an evolving and diverse community. We have a strong representation of First Nations students, approximately 26% of the school, and a small but growing Multicultural and EAL/D component.
Our school is nestled in a heritage listed area with important links of historical significance. We have a strong culture of sporting, academic, and community links, and our students participate in a wide range of learning experiences in the pursuit of their personal excellence.
The Special Education Unit is comprised of 10 classes, themed and strongly supported by the DP Inclusion and Support, and we also have our award-winning Wellbeing Centre, and unique Wellbeing Hub meeting the needs of all our students.
Lithgow High School is currently undergoing significant executive restructuring, curriculum redesign and cohort redevelopment around enrichment streaming and future-proof upskilling of student skillsets.

- Approval to teach Mathematics (Years 7-12) and the capacity to work collaboratively on high-quality new syllabus programs.
- Demonstrate ability to build student wellbeing through positive relationships with students, parents, staff and community through high level interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate ability to implement innovative and engaging teaching strategies to create positive learning climates and improve Literacy and Numeracy outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
- Deep curriculum knowledge with demonstrated commitment to improving academic achievement through formative assessment, effective feedback and evaluative practice.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply).
A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
