Clifton High School is an academically selective, co-educational, independent day school for approximately 780 pupils aged 3-18 years. Situated on a beautiful Bristol site, our educational offering is underpinned by a strong pastoral and family ethos. We value individuality and positively celebrate diversity and inclusion in every area of the school.
Biology is extremely popular at Clifton High School. The subject connects with pupils on a personal level, and so we seek to make the most of pupils’ natural curiosity and interest. The subject also lends itself to cross-curricular collaboration, with subjects like PE, Geography, and Food and Nutrition, as well as the other sciences, and we are always keen to break down the barriers of learning.
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified scientist and highly committed Teacher to work within this thriving department. The successful candidate will be able to teach throughout the Senior School to A level and Oxbridge; senior school teaching staff also teach ‘science’ to our Year 6 and 7 pupils and so the ability to cover elements of Chemistry and Physics at this level will be essential. The ability to teach either Chemistry or Physics to GCSE would also be an advantage.
A commitment to the wider education of pupils through extra-curricular activities is an expectation. The successful candidate will enjoy contributing to an excellent working environment for pupils, staff, parents and the wider school community.

Closing date for applications: Midnight, Monday 4th November 2024
