KGV is part of the English Schools Foundation (ESF), the largest provider of English-medium international education in Hong Kong. Our school delivers the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in years 7 to 9, and the (I)GCSE in years 10 and 11. In years 12 and 13, our students progress to study the IB diploma, the BTEC applied learning diploma or the IB Career-related programme which also includes a language development element.
The position is a renewable two-year contract position, from August 2025 to August 2027.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language, plus a recognised Postgraduate teaching qualification, or equivalent.
- Teaching experience within a recognised educational organisation.
- Teaching competence and capacity to teach Language Acquisition Mandarin in MYP in years 7 to 9, IGCSE, and Chinese B at IB diploma level. Experience in teaching Chinese language and literature is an advantage.
- Experience using data on student learning to shape curriculum, teaching and assessment provision.
- An ability to contribute to the Language Department’s Professional Learning Team collaboration, which is focused on improving student learning, and improving literacy across the school.
- Effective interpersonal skills and drive to form positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Willingness to contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme, including our year 11 language immersion trips.
