Alton School is a leading independent day school in Hampshire. We provide a high quality academic education for each of our students whilst never losing sight of the individual. At Alton we educate boys and girls from the ages of 6 months -18 and produce young people who are happy and successful.
We invite applications from well-qualified graduates to teach computer science. An interest in electronics and robotics is desirable. We are seeking to appoint a passionate and talented computer scientist who is prepared to contribute to this growing department.
All pupils have a weekly computing lesson and the successful applicant would also be expected to teach GCSE computer science. There is a lot of flexibility with this area of the curriculum for each teacher to shape an engaging learning programme. The ability to be creative and inspire future A level students is expected.
A commitment to extracurricular activities is essential and the successful candidate would be expected to work with the IT team to support the development of robotics and electronics through our school and to KS2 level, engaging students in National and International competitions.
