Job overview

The St Marylebone CE School welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds, races, cultures, faiths and genders.   The School actively promotes diversity and inclusion across its community and our students come from a wide range of backgrounds: 40% of our students speak English as an additional language; 59% of our students come from backgrounds other than white British.

We would like to recruit a Teacher of Business and Economics (Maternity cover) from 1st September 2024.  We require a versatile, capable and enthusiastic team player who will support the department’s industry links and enterprise programmes. The successful candidate must have the ability to teach Economics at A-Level and Business Studies at GCSE.

The department has a very strong academic record both at GCSE and A-Level. Economics is a popular subject with a growing number of students taking the subject at A-Level.   There is a strong ethos of collaborative teaching and learning and providing opportunities for the students in and outside of the curriculum is paramount. In the super-curricula, arranging guest speakers or industry visits to aid students' learning is encouraged. The wider co-curricular offer means there are opportunities to help or lead in many clubs.  The Business & Economics department also delivers Financial Literacy lessons to year 8 and gives Economics tasters to both them and year 10 to ensure all students have an economic awareness of the wider world.

You will be joining a small friendly team, which is part of a wonderful larger staff community, where staff well-being and professional development is valued.
