Derby College Group (DCG) are looking for a Teacher of English to join our Study Programme English team, to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English to our students. The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant team providing an outstanding learning experience, through the delivery of engaging teaching, learning and assessment, helping to prepare our students for the next stage in their career.
About you
You will be a dedicated and motivated professional, providing outstanding English teaching and learning for our 16-19 cohort. You will be qualified up to at least Level 3 in English, a relevant degree qualification (or equivalent) would be desirable. In addition, you will hold a recognised Level 5/6 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or be willing to work towards obtaining this.
You will be an enthusiastic, flexible and innovative teacher with experience of delivering English, preferably in a FE context. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver both GCSE and Functional Skills English to a wide range of students. Strategies for effective behaviour management are also required, as we support a wide range of curriculum areas.

About Derby College
Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.
Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
