Queen Elizabeth’s School is a 13-18 mixed Church of England comprehensive academy with an excellent local reputation for high quality teaching and learning and an innovative and forward looking approach to education. The school became an academy in 2014 and on the 1st September 2019 joined Wimborne Academy Trust. In February 2023 Wimborne Academy Trust joined forces with Minerva Learning Trust. The new partnership became Initio Learning Trust, comprising 18 schools across Dorset, with a head office based in Wimborne. The trust offers children and young people an excellent education through every stage of schooling from nursery through to sixth form.

In June 2018 the school was judged to be outstanding in the SIAMS inspection.

As a Church of England school our vision is linked to a 'Commitment to Hope' for all of our students.

At Queen Elizabeth’s School we are very proud of the positive relationships that exist between all members of the QE Family. The spirit of the QE Family is primarily recognised in the learning partnerships that exist between all members of the school community.

All that we do within school is underpinned by our school values of Community, Respect, Kindness and Love

We believe that when students are happy they will thrive, when they are challenged they will succeed and when they are supported they will achieve. Above all else, Queen Elizabeth’s School focuses on the individual to ensure that between the ages of 13 and 18 all students mature as learners and individuals. We all want our students to be successful and independent learners but we also recognise that they need support and guidance to achieve their potential.

At QE School we have a focus on student learning outcomes in the broadest sense and particularly seek to offer learning opportunities that will encourage resilience and adaptability that will enable our students to meet the demands of an ever changing society.

Queen Elizabeth’s School is one where we have the highest expectations and aspirations for every member of our school community. As a Church of England Academy, we are rooted in our Christian Faith and reaching out to everyone. We aim to provide all students with an exceptional education, a wide range of opportunities and extra-curricular activities, and a chance to be part of and contribute to a strong community. All members of the QE family are valued and supported to ensure that they feel secure allowing them to achieve their very best.

We are a school where every student has access to a broad, challenging and inspiring curriculum that provides them with the very best opportunities to flourish and achieve their aspirations. We aim to develop our students into confident learners who are resilient and resourceful in their approach to education and to life and who develop a love of learning.

As a member of the QE family students are nurtured as individuals through a pastoral system that has student wellbeing at its very heart. Central to this is the kindness and respect shown by all within the school.
