Full-time Teacher of English required: From January 2025 until July 2025
The English Department at St Bede’s College currently consists of eight teachers who work together with enthusiasm and humour. All pupils study English Literature and English Language to GCSE and many chose to continue their study of English into the Sixth Form.
The Department is highly thought of within the College and academic success is high: in 2023 96% of our students attained a good pass in GCSE English Language with over half of pupils achieving a grade 7 or higher. In GCSE English Literature we achieved a 93% pass rate.
The Department offers A Levels in English Literature and separately in English Language, with both significantly contributing to the excellent academic results in the Sixth Form.
