Tes is supporting the appointment of a Teacher of English (Maternity Cover) to join a High School for Girls based in Norfolk.

The High School is looking for a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of English to join their thriving department as maternity cover for the academic year 2024-25. 

The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for language and literature and will enjoy making a lively contribution to co-curricular activities. The post would be suitable for an ECT or a more experienced teacher.

English at the High School

English at the High School is a vibrant subject taught by a committed team. Their aim is to encourage every student to attain excellent skills of communication, analysis and interpretation through a strong personal engagement with the subject. They teach the CIE IGCSE English Language and English Literature courses. The OCR A level English Literature course is a popular choice for Sixth Form students and the department has a good track record of students going on to study English at university.

About the High School for Girls

The School was founded in 1875 and is an independent day school for girls from 3-18 with approximately 600 pupils.
