Cranford School invites applications for the role of Teacher of English to start January 2025.

We welcome applications from ECT’s and experienced Teachers who have the drive and ambition to ensure the departments continued success.

The successful applicant will be an innovative and inspiring classroom practitioner with an ethos that aligns with the School’s values and aims.

They will demonstrate excellent teaching skills and a reflective, life-long passion for learning, combined with the ability to motivate and inspire pupils and staff alike. They will share our high aspirations and expectations for all our pupils and encourage an engagement with their specialism throughout school.

The successful candidate will join a friendly, supportive, and ambitious team, both within the department and across the school.

A contribution to the extra-curricular life of the School will also be required.

Cranford School is just 5 miles from the historic market town of Wallingford, less than thirty minutes from the picturesque town of Henley-upon-Thames and within a short commuting distance from Oxford and Reading.

Cranford School is leading, independent day school with a national reputation for excellence situated in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. Offering an innovative, opportunity-rich education.

Cranford School Sixth Form opened its doors in September 2020, in addition to the extension of its successful co-educational provision into the Senior School. This will see boys admitted into Year 7 and Year 12 and represents a natural and exciting next step on the school's educational journey.

Cranford School opened in 1931 with just one pupil, on a site that now hosts Moulsford Preparatory School. It later expanded and moved to its current location with larger facilities. The school has recently enjoyed an ambitious programme of capital development including the addition of a modern sports hall in 2014, the development of a new IT suite, enhanced performing arts spaces, a new food technology and art and design suite and our Junior School extension.
